The Cathay Pacific Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens will expect 120,000 visitors over three days from 26th March to the 28th March. 5,000 tickets were made available to members of the public not directly involved in local rugby, and combined with ticket sales to local rugby clubs and the like, three quarters of the daily 40,000 (stadium capacity) event tickets were sold to Hong Kong residents.
Warrick Dent, from the HKRFU, was happy with the sell-out and was anticipating another huge event which is considered arguably Hong Kong’s biggest sporting spectacle. The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union is satisfied that todays sale proceeded smoothly in light of the high demand. We are pleased to have recorded another sell-out and want to thank the Hong Kong community for their continued support. We look forward to another fantastic Cathay Pacific Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens this March.Held at the Hong Kong Stadium in So Kon Po in Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island, Sevens has been a feature in the country long before the IRB World Sevens Series (which commenced in 1999).
